Bye Bye 22 I'm moving on to 23 😎

A reminder of what happened towards the end, a prediction for the year ahead

Happy New Year Guys!

Hope you had an amazing time reminiscing about the past year, reflecting on it and making stronger resolutions for the fun filled 2023.

I thought about letting you guys know some of the things that are predicted for 2023.Now don't get me wrong I'm not talking about fancy science fiction predictions of time travel, or invasions or even World War 3 (Seriously hope that doesn't happen!)

But apart from that some of the things we all should be careful/embrace a few trends that might come true this year!

  1. Chances of a possible recession as the top 3 economies are slowing down warns the World Bank which might lead to a possible global recession although experts predict it to be not as severe as 2008 gloabl recession.

  2. After 3 years of pandemic and economic slowdown the retail sector is expected to grow this year with a blend of online and offline.

  3. The metaverse revolution is also expected to grow significantly this year and take a proper shape after a not so good 2022.

Well these are some interesting pieces of information I thought I'd share today with you guys but whether things take a turn in the directions of the trends or a disruption is on the cards only time will tell.

So as we step into the future with a blank diary of 364 pages now (Yes today is over) let's review what the last 3 months brought for us!

It wouldn’t be wrong to call Elon Musk the real-life Michael Scott. The 4th richest man of the world became the owner and CEO of of Twitter on October 27, 2022 and guess what’s the first thing he did? Yes, you guessed it right! The man fired majority of Twitter’s over 200 employees in India as part of mass layoffs across the globe, to balance out different teams. As ironic for a social networking platform, the entire marketing and communications department in India was sacked. But did he stop there? No, he went on to fire CEO Parag Agarwal and the CFO, along with some other C-suite executives. Our country bore the brunt of this firing, the most. Freedom of Speech being a fundamental right of the country, the Government tried intervening to establish the same with Twitter but all in vain. The company in the email barred employees from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.

On the technology-front!

If you’re someone who has to write a number of articles or essays, allow us to let you in on a trade secret. Open AI’ ChatGPT is your saviour in times of writer’s block. It is a chatbot where users can ask questions, and the platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide replies. To up their game, Open AI’s GPT 4 is said to release in 2023 and is likely to be one of the most capable AI-powered chatbot. It will be capable of text generation, language translation, text summarisation, question answering, chatbot, and the automated content generation just like the ChatGPT 3. What stuns us is that it is said to have 1 million parameters that will enable it to produce more accurate responses at a much faster rate.

GOAT for all the right reasons!

You may or may not be a football-enthusiast but you’d be lying if you said that the Qatar World Cup Final did not have you sitting at the edge of your seat, in a nail-biter of a game. Well, being his last FIFA World Cup, Messi emerged as the GOAT that he is after Argentina beat France. To commemorate such a monumental win of his career, the room in which Messi stayed during the World Cup will be turned into a museum. For most of his time in Qatar, the Argentina team stayed in rooms of the University of Qatar and Messi's belongings will be a legacy for students to witness the great achievements Messi has reached during the World Cup.

The 2 Ps: Pandemic and Politics!

In a wave of hard luck, the scare of COVID-19 4th wave is on a surge but seems like the Delhi Government has learnt from their previous mistake. Led by CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, the government has approved Rs. 104 Crore to government hospitals for procurement of general medicines and preparation of any emergency situation that may arise. Delhi government has already alerted all its hospitals and directed them to ramp up the preparations for potential Covid cases that might be reported in the future.
